Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc. is a private not-for-profit health care corporation established March 15, 1978 in accordance with Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. Syracuse Community Health Center, Inc..s primary mission is to provide quality health care services to all individuals with a commitment to those who might otherwise be excluded from the health care system while remaining cost effective, efficient and competitive.

To ensure that the corporation is closely attuned to community needs, the Health Center is governed by a consumer majority Board of Directors. Accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. SCHC is a major health care resource in Onondaga County. In the recent years SCHC has been recognized by the National Center for Health Policy Studies for its high quality, cost effective delivery system.

The Health Center.s staff numbers approximately 400, and includes a provider staff of 86 . comprised of physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, radiologists, certified nurse midwives, ophthalmologist, podiatrist and other health care professionals. SCHC.s staff includes Board-Certified and Board-Eligible physicians in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, and highly trained dentists. The Health Center.s physicians and dentists receive expert support from certified Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Midwives and Dental Hygienists. This comprehensive professional resource enables Syracuse Community Health Center to offer a remarkably wide range of primary and urgent medical, dental and behavioral health services. Today SCHC serves over 68,000 active users at eleven different service delivery sites.

Payment Options

Syracuse Community Health Center provides health care for all persons, regardless of their financial status. We have a sliding fee plan for eligible individuals which covers health care services. The sliding fee payment plan will be developed based on your family size and income. By offering this special service, you can always be assured of receiving health care for you and your family. We participate with Total Care, Child Health Plus, Family Health Plus, Blue Shield, United Health Care, GHI, MVP, POMCO and most third party insurance. Medicare and Medicaid patients are always welcome. If you are a senior or student, we have special discounts just for you. We also offer a "prompt pay" discount and methods of payment including cash, check, MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
